The small city of McKee, Kentucky is located in Jackson County and serves as the county seat. Named for former Judge George R. McKee, the community is home to only about 800 people. Most residents are employed out of the city in neighboring communities, including Mt. Vernon at 30 miles to the west and Richmond 30 miles to the north.
