About Lexington, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Lexington, Kentucky is the second-largest city in the state, with a population of nearly 320,000 residents. Also called the “Horse Capital of the World,” Lexington is thought to be the Bluegrass Region of the state. The city has one of the highest college education rates, with nearly 40% of residents earning at least a bachelor’s degree. Many of these degrees are earned at local institutions like the University of Kentucky, Transylvania University, and Sullivan University. Due to this high education, Lexington has one of the most stable economies in the U.S., and it is home to corporations like Xerox, Lockheed-Martin, and Lexmark International.

Lexington is home to many cultural organizations and attractions. These include the Lexington Philharmonic, the Lexington Ballet Company, the Kentucky Ballet Theatre, and the Kentucky Theatre. This historical city is home to many prominent museums and structures, such as the Lexington Public Library, Ashland: The Henry Clay Estate, the Pope Vila, and the Aviation Museum of Kentucky. Lexington is also a major Thoroughbred breeding and racing center, including the Red Mile and Keeneland tracks.

The Lexington region is known for its humid subtropical climate zone. While the area tends to be warmer during the winter than other parts of the country, residents still need to invest in a gas or electric furnace at home. Average lows in January fall into the 20s, which is well below freezing. Without a reliable furnace in place – especially one that is regularly serviced by an HVAC professional – interior conditions can quickly become dangerous.

The autumn and spring months in Lexington are pleasant, but the summer can be dangerously hot and humid. Highs often reach into the 90s, and muggy conditions can make it feel even warmer. It is recommended that residents have their systems serviced during the spring to ensure they are ready for summer. This will also help residents to keep their cooling costs affordable.
